Meanwhile, Sadiya Umar Faruq Dispels Claim of Diverting Npower Funds To Fg Palliatives

“It is impossible to divert government funds that have been appropriated on a budget line to another line because of the Treasury Single Account.”

“The minister of Fed Min of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has dispelled the story flying on the social media claiming the ministry has diverted the stipends of npower beneficiaries into federal government palliatives.

The minister who debunked the claim while answering a question asked by a journalist during the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid19 stated that, it is practically impossible to divert monies that have been budgeted for a particular project into a different project”.

She also added by asking rhetorical questions: how can you divert money from a particular budget line to a different budget line? Why is the issue of npower always on air?

The minister who failed to state why some beneficiaries are yet to receive their March stipend called on the Minister of Information and Culture to come to her aid in the ministry.

But assured all volunteers yet unpaid to wait a little as payment in going

“In a document exclusively obtained by Sahara Reporters, the Humanitarian Ministry spearheaded the move despite a warning by stakeholders in the scheme”.

“Recall that Sahara Reporters had uncovered and reported a plan by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouq; President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to divert funds meant as palliatives by altering the country’s social register.”
