Unpaid Stipends: 80,000 Volunteers Affected, Reps  Aware of 11,000, Investigation Still On: Nsikak Okon, speaking  on behalf of the N-Power National Coordinator at the investigative hearing of the Committee disclosed that the sum of N421,525,909,355 was spent so far. Okon added that the agency had written to the office of the Accountant General of the Federation (oAGF) on the over 11,000 N-Power beneficiaries who have not been paid March, April, and May Stipends

There are as many as 80,000 volunteers not paid for three consecutive months without course, but Okon reported only 11,000

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts has expressed worry over the whopping sum of N475 billion allegedly spent on the N-Power scheme as stipends between 2016 and 2020 and yet many volunteers are till owed of Months

Sadiya Umar Farouq Failed to Honor Invitation By Reps 4 Times

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has repeated denied owing volunteers, stating continuously of paying all volunteers their earned stipends

Lately, the Minister recognized owing 80,000 volunteers three months stipends and promised to trigger alert with 72hrs, but failed to do so, after long wait by volunteers

The minister’s comments came against the backdrop of volunteers demanding for their March, April, and May stipends

On one hand, Sadiya blamed  Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), as the caused of the delay. Later denied owing beneficiaries

The Affected npower beneficiaries are hoping to get paid their March, April and May stipends using the GIFMIS after the Federal Government asked them to forward their details for verification, but to no avail
